Borderless Europe – can we dream that big?!

n March AEGEE’s ‘European Planning Meeting’ took place. This year Armenia hosted the meeting what made the EPM to something very special because for the first time in 32 years there was a statutory event held in the Caucasus. Because of this, that EPM will certainly make history within AEGEE. The European Planning Meeting takes place once a year. The the main goal is to draft the Action Agenda for the upcoming year but always in line with our strategic plan which is resolved for three years. Until 2019 AEGEE concentrates on Civic Education, Youth Development, European Citizenship and Equal Rights. Further, there are podium discussions, workshops, a cultural and a social program organized. For that, high-ranked guests with backgrounds in politics, media, economy, university and social society are invited.

AEGEE-Yerevan worked hard to make this event even more special than it already has been. To strengthen the relations and communication between the EU and eastern non EU countries, they drafted the program for the EPM with the focus on searching, developing and finding ideas, impulses and solutions for the problems that has occurred by now when it comes to the integration of states and their citizens into the European context. There is no doubt that every participant went back home with his/her own, very unique impressions and feels motivated to push on the European integration.

Besides, both the EPM and the Pre Event in the week before it in Tbilisi, Georgia bestowed unforgettable experiences with impressive people who became friends and moments that became memories that will last a lifetime on us. The Caucasus came closer to us and Europe. Not geographically but emotionally, that’s for sure.
